Class Levels & Descriptions
Designed to introduce young dancers to creative expression, movement with dance props, games and the introduction of basic ballet positions and stretching. Focus is placed on music identification, loco motor skill development and rhythm. Children that attend this class LOVE it! It helps prepare them for more structured classes in the future. Get ready for dance FUN!
CM I, Ages 3-4 (Must be 3 by September 1)
CM II, Ages 5-6 (Must be 5 by September 1)
Class meets once a week on either Wednesday or Saturday.
Join in this class for twice the dance fun. This forty-five-minute class combines the cool dance moves of Kids Hip Hop with the fun percussive sounds of Tap. Students will learn the basic technique of these two fun dance styles all while helping to burn dance energy along the way.
Ages 3-6 (Must be 3 by September 1)
An hour and fifteen minute based curriculum designed to introduce dancers to fundamental ballet positions, basic dance terminology and strengthening exercises. Focus is placed on barre introduction, music sensitivity, rhythm, discipline and repetitious movement. We believe that ballet provides the basic foundations for all dance genres, as well as for gymnastics, pom-pom and cheerleading.
New students must be 7 years old by September 1 to enroll. *Students may remain in this class for up to 3 years based on maturity, focus and overall development.Additionally, in most cases students must meet the age maximum for class promotion.
Pre-requisite: Ages 7-10
Designed to focus on body alignment and technical strength required for barre and center combinations. Focus is placed on dance terminology, rhythm, and repetitious movement. Two classes per week suggested in this dance category.
*Students may remain in this class for up to 3 or more years based on maturity, focus and overall class development.Additionally, in most cases, students must meet the age maximum for class promotion.
Pre-requisite: Ages 9-12.
This building block feeder dance class allows for students to continue to work on ballet technique, form, awareness and conditioning to help build a stronger and more versatile dancer.
Ages 8-11; Must be enrolled as a second-year Ballet Appreciation or BT I classes
For older students, this class is designed to continue focus on body alignment, flexibility and technical strength required for more complex combinations, terminology and overall movement quality needed for dance performances.
Pre-requisite: Ages 12 & Up with previous dance experience.
For the older student, this class is designed to continue focus on body alignment, flexibility and technical strength required for more complex combinations, terminology and overall movement quality needed for dance performances.
Pre-requisite: Ages 13 & up, with previous experience.
This class is a great compliment to our Ballet Appreciation class. Full – hour dance curriculum designed to further reiterate ballet positions, dance terminology, strengthening and core, as well as an overall more polished technique focus. Emphasis is placed on barre work and center. This class will also focus on applying technique for better stage presence in performances.
Pre-requisite: Ages 7- 9

An excellent class for dancers ages 12+ designed to focus on introducing modern technique and contemporary by using abstract movement, theme imagery, and creative fluid technique for the mind, body and soul. Get moving!
Pre-requisite: Ages 12 & Up.
This class is an introductory class to Beginner Jazz. Fluid movement helps create a visually technical dance and style. This class will include body isolations, beginning turns and leaps to create a unique dance class for the younger dance student.
*Students may remain in this class for up to 3 years based on maturity, focus and overall class development. Additionally, in most cases students must meet the age maximum for class promotion.
Pre-requisite: Ages 7 – 11 ; Can be taken in conjunction with Ballet Appreciation class.
For most dancers at heart, this technical class will help strengthen ballet technique in the form of review, repetition and dance execution. Focus is also placed on toning, strengthening and muscle conditioning. This is a must have class to help students understand the true basic fundamentals in a non – performance based classroom curriculum.
Pre-requisite: Ages 10 & up
This upbeat class combines basic hip-hop, jazz technique and choreography with no suggestive lyrics/movements. In this fast-paced, fun class, students will use the jazz dance style to further develop coordination, rhythm, added flexibility and self-expression.
Pre-requisite: Pre – Jazz or ages 12 & up
Designed to fine-tune ballet technique and individual artistic expression while dancing on pointe. Emphasis is also placed on complex level combinations and technique enhancement. This class is taken in conjunction with at least 3 other dance classes.
Pre-requisite: Approval from the Director only.
This dance class is an introduction for boys with minimal dance experience. Class includes a warm-up concentrating on building stamina, body conditioning and rhythm isolations. The class focus includes footwork, building a foundation of basic hip-hop movements, across the floor exercises and short combinations to today’s popular music. This neat class is only for boys, so your son will never feel surrounded by cute pink tutus!
