Hello readers! I am one of the new communication interns for the summer at Ballet On Wheels Dance School & Company and my name is Jennifer! Although I’ve never danced before, I have been involved with the arts for quite some time in the band and marching band; about 11 years, in fact. So, while I may not be as coordinated as the dancers at Ballet On Wheels, I understand the importance of keeping the arts alive in our communities!
Today, I want to give a brief recap of our latest end-of-the-year performance, Annie: The “Dance-sical,” which featured the iconic music from“It’s a Hard Knock Life” to “Tomorrow.” The Ballet On Wheels Dance School & Company performed a full dance production based on the Broadway musical and motion picture film at the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts and Education in early June.
The dancers and teachers worked tirelessly to put on the “dance-sical”, which is so named because contrary to the typical musical, the songs in our production were not sung by our cast. Rather, our cast danced through the entire performance!
Be sure to check our social media pages for more information on upcoming events and activities! You can find us on Facebook (@BalletOnWheels), Twitter (@balletonwheelz) and Instagram (@balletonwheelsdanceschool).
I hope you are as excited as I am for what’s coming up this summer and in the fall!
